A Doppler ultrasound scan is a non-invasive procedure to assess your baby’s growth, well-being, and potential health concerns during pregnancy. The scan utilizes high-frequency sound waves to examine blood flow patterns. As blood cells move through vessels, they change sound waves due to the Doppler effect. During the scan, a unique wand called a transducer, is moved over your abdomen, similar to a regular ultrasound.
