Editorial & Content Review Policy

All clinical, educational and informational content published on balajihorizon.com is held to the same evidence standard we apply inside the consulting room. This policy describes how we write, source, review and update that content.

1. Editorial leadership

Editorial direction rests with Dr. Priyadatt Patel — Senior Gynecologist, Advanced Laparoscopic Surgeon, and the hospital’s IVF and Endometriosis Programme Lead. Co-author on obstetric and pregnancy content: Dr. Shreya Iyengar Patel, MS OBGyn — Obstetrician and IVF & Reproductive Medicine Consultant.

2. Evidence hierarchy

Where the evidence allows, we prefer (in descending order):

1. High-quality international guidelines — ESHRE, ASRM, FIGO, ISUOG, ESGE, AAGL, RCOG, ACOG, NICE, ICMR.
2. Cochrane reviews and other recent systematic reviews / meta-analyses.
3. Adequately powered randomised controlled trials.
4. Large prospective cohort and registry data.
5. Expert consensus statements and society position papers.
6. Clinical experience — always declared as such, never as a substitute for the levels above.

Where evidence is conflicting or weak, the page will say so plainly. We will not present uncertainty as certainty.

3. What we will not do

• We will not publish IVF success-rate percentages, per-cycle live-birth comparisons, surgical outcome statistics or clinic vs. clinic benchmarking, in line with the ICMR ART Act 2021 advertising provisions.
• We will not use fear-based, exaggerated or sensational language to drive consultation conversion.
• We will not publish “miracle cure” claims, guaranteed-outcome promises or before/after photographs intended to provoke comparative anxiety.
• We will not accept paid sponsorship, pharmaceutical placement, or device-vendor advertising in clinical content.
• We will not use AI-generated medical illustrations that depict named hospital clinicians.

4. Review and update cycle

• Clinical pages carry a visible “Reviewed by” line.
• Pillar pages are reviewed at minimum annually, and immediately whenever a major guideline update (ESHRE, ASRM, FIGO, ISUOG) is released.
• Blog posts are dated and updated rather than silently rewritten; significant changes are noted.

5. Corrections and feedback

If you find an error — typographical, factual or scientific — please write to balajiwomensclinic@gmail.com. Substantive corrections are made publicly with a dated note.

6. Independence statement

No pharmaceutical company, device manufacturer, fertility chain or marketing partner has editorial influence over content published on this site.
