IVF Cost and Treatment Planning
IVF cost transparency is part of patient trust — and trust matters because IVF is rarely a one-cycle decision. Patients planning IVF need to know what to expect financially and how to plan across potential multiple cycles. They need to know what a base cycle includes, what the common add-ons cost, when those add-ons are worth it, and when they aren’t. We discuss money openly. Cost transparency is not a marketing tactic — it is part of how we expect patients to make informed decisions.
Our approach to cost transparency
Every patient receives a written cost estimate before starting a cycle. The estimate breaks out: consultation fees, baseline investigations, base IVF cycle cost, common add-ons (ICSI, PGT, FET, blastocyst culture), and medications. We mark items as standard, recommended-for-this-case, or optional. Patients should know what they’re paying for and why.
What a base cycle includes
The base IVF cycle typically includes monitoring, retrieval, conventional IVF fertilisation, embryo culture, fresh transfer, and luteal support. Specific add-ons (ICSI, PGT, FET, blastocyst culture, vitrification) are quoted separately so patients see what each costs and can decide based on indication.
Choosing the right IVF doctor
This decision matters more than any single cycle decision. We provide a framework for patients evaluating IVF centres — including what to ask about success-rate reporting, lab quality, transparency of outcomes, and the team’s experience with the patient’s specific situation.
Realistic success rates
Pregnancy rates are not the same as live-birth rates. Single-cycle rates are not the same as cumulative across multiple cycles. Per-transfer rates are not the same as per-cycle-started rates. We report all of these honestly and explain the differences. The headline number is rarely the most useful number.
Preparing for IVF
The 90-day window before a cycle is the most controllable factor in the patient’s hands. Sleep, nutrition, exercise, stress management, supplement decisions — all matter. We discuss the evidence honestly: some things help, some don’t, some claims have no support.
