IVF Pregnancy Care — Antenatal Care After Fertility Treatment
A pregnancy conceived through IVF deserves the same calm, evidence-based antenatal care as any other — with a little extra attention in the early weeks. At Balaji Horizon we bridge your fertility treatment and your pregnancy care seamlessly, so nothing is lost in the handover.
Is an IVF pregnancy different?
For the most part, an IVF pregnancy is managed like any other once it is established. The main differences are early on — continued hormonal (luteal) support as advised by your fertility team, and an early viability scan to confirm the pregnancy and number of embryos. After that, your antenatal care follows the usual structured programme.
Early pregnancy care
We confirm viability with an early scan, continue any prescribed support medication for as long as advised (never stopped on assumption), and watch for a multiple pregnancy, which is more common after fertility treatment and needs extra planning — see twin pregnancy care.
Antenatal monitoring
From the first trimester onward, care follows the standard schedule of visits, screening and scans, with attention to blood pressure, growth and any individual risk factors. Detailed fetal assessment is provided by our fetal medicine unit, exactly as for any pregnancy.
A note on reassurance
It is natural to feel more anxious after a hard-won pregnancy. We aim for calm, clear communication and realistic information at every step, without overpromising — because trust matters more than reassurance that cannot be guaranteed. Your IVF and fertility journey and your pregnancy care are part of one continuous plan.
