Balaji Horizon Women's Hospital

For patients holding outside recommendations

A second opinion, considered with care.

If you have been told you need a hysterectomy, a particular IVF protocol, or a complex endometriosis surgery — and you would like a structured second review before deciding — we offer a dedicated consultation for that single purpose.

This is not about overturning a colleague’s plan. It is about giving you a second considered perspective so you can make a decision you remain comfortable with for the next 10–20 years.

When a second opinion is worth your time

A planned hysterectomy

For fibroids, adenomyosis or persistent bleeding — when fertility-preserving alternatives may or may not apply to your case.

An IVF protocol that didn’t feel right

After a failed cycle, poor response, or a plan that does not match your ovarian reserve and age profile.

A complex endometriosis surgery

When deep infiltrating disease, bowel or bladder involvement, or recurrence is being discussed.

Recurrent miscarriage or implantation failure

When the workup feels incomplete or when the next step is unclear.

What a second opinion at Balaji Horizon involves

  1. A structured review of your imaging and reports — ultrasound, MRI, hysteroscopy notes, semen analysis, AMH, prior surgical notes — read against current international guidelines (ESHRE, ASRM, FIGO, ISUOG, ESGE, AAGL).
  2. A clinical discussion in person or by video — typically 45 to 60 minutes — to understand your priorities, fertility goals and risk tolerance.
  3. A written summary — a one-page note you can keep, with the agreed plan, the rationale, and what we would watch for.
  4. No pressure to switch — if the existing plan is sound, we will tell you that. If a modification would help, we will say so and explain why.

What to bring

  • Most recent ultrasound (transvaginal or transabdominal) with the report and the operator’s name.
  • MRI pelvis if performed — the images on CD or via cloud link, plus the radiologist’s report.
  • Any prior surgical or hysteroscopy notes.
  • Hormone panel (AMH, FSH, LH, TSH, prolactin) and semen analysis where relevant.
  • The written treatment plan or recommendation you have been given so far.

Booking a second-opinion consultation

Mention second opinion when you write or call so we can allocate the right amount of time and ask you to share your imaging in advance.
