Balaji Horizon Recognised with the Dr. P. B. Haribhakti Trophy for Best Consulting Room

Balaji Horizon Women’s Hospital, Ahmedabad, practice news.
At the Ahmedabad Medical Association’s 124th Annual Day on 26 July 2026, Balaji Horizon Women’s Hospital received the Dr. P. B. Haribhakti Trophy for Best Consulting Room, presented at AMA Hall under AMA President Dr. Jignesh Shah and Hon. Secretary Dr. Maulik Sheth.
What the award recognises: the consulting room itself, clinical ambience, patient comfort, functionality and the overall experience of the space where consultations happen. It is a facility recognition, not a clinical outcome or treatment-quality award.
What the trophy is for
The Ahmedabad Medical Association’s Best Consulting Room recognition looks at how a clinical space is designed and run for the people who use it: how comfortable and private it feels for a patient during a consultation, how the room supports the actual work of examination and counselling, and how thoughtfully it is maintained. It says nothing about surgical outcomes, IVF success, or the quality of a diagnosis, those are separate questions, judged by separate evidence, and we are careful not to blur the two.
Why we think the distinction matters
Patient experience and clinical quality are related but not the same thing, and healthcare communication too often lets one stand in for the other. A well-designed consulting room can make a difficult conversation, about endometriosis, about a failed IVF cycle, about a pregnancy complication, a little easier to have. That is worth recognising on its own terms. It is not evidence of surgical skill or treatment efficacy, and we would rather say that plainly than let a facility award imply more than it does.
The room itself
The consulting room at Balaji Horizon was designed around a simple brief: privacy for sensitive conversations, enough space to review scans and reports together rather than across a desk, and an environment that does not feel clinical in the cold sense of the word. This award is a recognition that the brief was met.
Where this sits alongside our other work
This is the hospital’s second recognition from a professional body, alongside Dr. Priyadatt Patel’s Young Skill & Excellence Star Award from the Indian Association of Gynaecological Endoscopists (IAGE–AAGL, 2023). Details of both are listed on Dr. Patel’s profile, alongside his academic and surgical background. Neither recognition substitutes for the evidence-based approach we try to bring to every consultation, that remains the actual work, and the part we ask patients to judge us on.
