How To Use Ovulation Test Kits to Detect Fertility

Ovulation is a critical process in a woman’s reproductive cycle. It ensures a woman’s fertility and ability to bear children. The matured egg is discharged from the ovary during ovulation and travels to the fallopian tube, where it remains alive for 12 – 24 hours. This is when the fertilisation must take place.

This ovulation period is critical for couples trying to have children. So, how does one determine the ovulation time? You can use a reputable ovulation test kit for this. What exactly does an ovulation test kit do? An ovulation test kit will determine whether or not you are ovulating.

How does an Ovulation Test Kit Work?

Luteinizing hormone, a hormone secreted by the anterior pituitary gland, causes women to ovulate. In other words, only when this hormone is released can women ovulate. This hormone is secreted in urine, which an ovulation test kit detects. These kits function in the same way that pregnancy test kits do.

You should be aware that the average menstrual cycle lasts 28 days. This means that ovulation will most likely occur on the 14th day. The ovulation day, however, will vary depending on the length of each woman’s cycle. You can start the test on fertile days. On these days, you should test your urine once a day. If you get a positive ovulation test, have sexual relations with your partner either that day or the next. The egg must be fertilised within 12 – 24 hours of being discharged.

Ovulation Kit Uses

An ovulation test kit is used to determine the precise dates of ovulation. It works similarly to a pregnancy test kit and is simple to use. An ovulation test kit’s predictability can reach 97 percent. Ovulation test kits are also widely available on the market. Another important aspect is that you can learn if you are not ovulating! Yes, the ovulation kit’s results can be accurate.

When to Use an Ovulation Test Kit?

You should be aware that the average menstrual cycle lasts 28 days, with ovulation occurring around the 14th day. The ovulation day, however, will vary depending on the length of each woman’s cycle. The test can be started on day 12 of a 28-day cycle. On these days, you should test your urine once a day. If you get a positive ovulation test, have sexual relations with your partner either that day or the next. The egg must be fertilised within 12 – 24 hours of being discharged. Women will also experience symptoms such as a slight rise in body temperature and vaginal discharge during ovulation. If you have these symptoms, use an ovulation test kit to check.

How to Test the Ovulation Kit?

Begin the testing two to three days before the expected date of ovulation. For this, you will need to follow a similar procedure as done during the pregnancy test. A single blue line indicates no ovulation on the cards, but when you see a double blue line, it means ovulation is possible within 2 to 3 days. There are digital kits with high accuracy.

Not getting results with Ovulation Test Kit – Know Why

It is not possible to get accurate results consistently. There can be false negatives and false positives. In such cases, it is pertinent to contact your doctor to know what can be done and the further course of treatment to gain fertility.

How to use an Ovulation Kit as a Pregnancy Test?

Technically, the ovulation kit can be used as a pregnancy test, but the results may be inaccurate. Human chorionic gonadotropin hormone (hCG) levels in urine will be extremely high when pregnant. A pregnancy test kit can be used to detect the level of this hormone. An ovulation test kit, on the other hand, may be unable to detect hCG levels. This is a major reason why you should not rely on ovulation test kit results to confirm your pregnancy.

There are various types of ovulation test kits on the market. To check the results, you can use an app or a kit. Remember to have intercourse while ovulating, as this is the most fertile time for every woman. If you want to conceive as soon as possible, use both the app and the kit, as they will yield faster results.
